Description of Holy Well and Landscape Setting

There is no knowledge of the holy well locally. There is a spring at the reported site of the well which has always been used as a water supply and now has a pump house built over it. The site is marked ‘Holy Well’ on the 1842 Ordnance Survey maps.

Saint and Feast Day Associated with Holy Well

The well is known as Saint Patrick’s Well, but the pattern day and any associated cures are no longer known.

Natural Heritage around the Holy Well

The supposed site of the well is in an area of improved grazing fields with mixed hedgerows.
